The History of Our Village Through Time
The aim of the Hapton History Group is to document village life in Hapton, Norfolk to the present day, and to use the material in order to preserve, promote and communicate a better understanding of life in a rural Norfolk village.
The Data Protection Act 2018 (GDPR), determines the way in which the Hapton History Group informs you about how your personal data is stored and processed, and how you can get access to it. The legal basis for the Group’s processing of any personal data is archiving in the public interest. No data which is classified as “Sensitive” or “Special category Data” by the GDPR is held by the Group.
Where such data would be likely to cause substantial distress or harm to you, if disclosed, it will be withheld from public access, but will still be retained by the Group. Personal data held by the Group will be retained in perpetuity, so as to inform the research of future generations. In collecting this information, the Hapton Histroy Group has acted in good faith.
What are your data protection rights?
Everybody is entitled to the following:
The right to access – You have the right to request the Group for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that the Group correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request the
Group to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that the Group erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that the Group restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the Group's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to data portability – You have the right to request that the Group transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you,
under certain conditions.
If you are concerned that you have found material in our collection which contravenes privacy laws, is obscene / defamatory and in terms of copyright law is not covered by your
limitation or exception, please contact us in writing stating the following:
1. Your contact details.
2. The full details of the material.
3. The exact and full url where you found the material.
4. The reason for your request including but not limited to copyright law, privacy laws, data protection, obscenity, defamation etc.
