In the 1911 George has left home he is living at 61 Musters Road, West Bridgford, he is living with William Moris a school master and his wife and a number of other school masters and mistresses, he is shown as being 20 years of age, single and a school master.

Probate proven with will at Winchester 29th July 1918 shows him as , Dye George Harry Gordon of Victoria Road Yarmouth Isle of Wight temporary lieutenant 9th service battalion Norfolk Regiment died 21 November 1917 in no 21 casualty clearing station in France. Effects £167 0s 8d, to Ellen Dye (wife of George Arthur Dye)

Military History
Lieutenant George Harry Gordon Dye, first served with the 20th Royal Fusiliers he landed in France on 14th November 1915 and joined the British Expeditionary Force.He was commissioned on 6th November 1916 into the 9th Battalion Norfolk Regiment.
He died of wounds received the previous day on 21st November 1917, and is buried in Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt

Article published in the Nottingham Evening Post dated 18th December 1917:-

“DIED OF WOUNDS.

“LIEUT. G. H. DYE.

“Lieut. G. H. Dye, Norfolk Regiment, formerly one of the masters as the Modern School, West Bridgford, whose home is at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, died of wounds on the 21st ult. He was 25 years of age, and was educated at Christ's Hospital. He was popular in West Bridgford, where he played cricket with the St. Giles' Club and football for Rushcliffe
